Y-Retirement Virtual Education

Want to learn more about your benefits, or need help planning for retirement? There are now two live virtual education options facilitated by YMCA Retirement Fund staff!

New dates and times are released at Noon ET on the second Monday of each month for the following month. For example: on the second Monday of March, dates and times will be released for the month of April. Please note sessions fill to capacity quickly!

Understanding Your YMCA Retirement Fund Benefit

This 45-minute educational presentation is designed for new hires or those ready to save for retirement. You’ll learn the difference between the Retirement Plan and the Savings Plan and how to make the most of the Savings Plan’s (403(b) Smart Account and Rollover) features while working and in retirement. You’ll also learn the “rule of thumb” for the income you’ll need in retirement and how tax-deferred savings add up.

Retirement Strategies: Creating Your Plan Seminar

This is a three-hour seminar designed for staff who are within ten years of retirement or over the age of fifty. Your spouse/partner is encouraged to attend. You’ll learn about the options with your YMCA Retirement Fund accounts, including all annuity options; understanding and getting the most from your Social Security benefit; budgeting; taxes in retirement; healthcare options, including an overview of Medicare; and questions to consider in estate planning.

Those pursuing Y-USA Leadership certification/re-certification can receive four credits.

Join the Managing Your Money: Budgeting and Saving Ideas workshop for tips and tools, and learn how you can create a savings plan for your financial goals. Presented virtually by Well’s Fargo on Tuesday, February 22nd at 9:30 am for any interested employees.

Topics include:

  • Setting financial goals – Prioritizing what you’d like to save for — a home, education expenses, or retirement.
  • Money management – Expense tracking tools show where your money goes each month and how you can make adjustments.
  • Creating a budget – Get tips for creating a budget that can help you manage your bills and set aside savings for your goals.
  • Implementing your plan – Discover tools that can help you stay on track and adjust your plan as your needs change.
